Thomas Tuchel has blocked Bayern Munich from making a move for David De Gea this summer.
The German reportedly ‘vetoed’ the idea of the former Manchester United goalkeeper joining the club on a free transfer, according to Florian Plettenberg.
Bayern reject chance to sign David De Gea
The move appeared to be edging closer earlier this week, as De Gea had agreed on terms to move to the Allianz Arena.
However, Tuchel blocked the potential deal, and has instead pushed the club to sign Manchester City’s Stefan Ortega.
But, that move is also reportedly off. However, Bayern have welcomed the news that Manuel Neuer is closing in on his return to action after suffering a broken leg after the World Cup.
De Gea had reportedly been close to joining Real Madrid, but the Spanish giants instead made a move for Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The former Man United goalkeeper still has offers on the table from the Saudi Pro League, but he would prefer to remain in Europe.
