Odysseas Vlachodimos among options being considered by United
Vlachodimos has long-term admirers at Old Trafford, and the club could be set to make a move for the Benfica goalkeeper this week, according to reports in the Daily Mail.
The Greek international has played 33 times for his nation, despite having represented Germany at youth level between 2009 and 2017.
Vlachodimos signed for Benfica in the summer of 2018 after impressing during a two-season stint with Panathinaikos.
The goalkeeper was immediately installed as the number one choice, and impressed during their Champions League campaign.
Newcastle were previously linked with a move in January 2022, but he opted to remain in Portugal and signed a new deal with the club in March 2023.
The 29-year-old has a $60 million release clause in his deal, but United will be keen to work on a compromise after spending big on Andre Onana already this summer.
