Mauricio Pochettino looks set to add to his options in the goalkeeper position, as Chelsea have agreed to a $20 million deal with New England Revolution for Djordje Petrovic.
The latest reports at the Daily Mail claim that a medical will be completed in the next 48 hours, and there isn’t expected to be a delay in completing the deal.
Djordje Petrovic ends spell in MLS
Chelsea have been monitoring the Serbian goalkeeper throughout the summer after being impressed by his displays in the MLS last term.
Petrovic led the North American competition in terms of saves and save percentage in 2023.
The move will create greater competition for the number one spot to Robert Sanchez after the Blues have already offloaded Kepa Arrizabalaga, Gaga Slonina, and Teddy Sharman-Lowe on loan deals this summer.
Sanchez will continue to be Chelsea’s number one this season after signing for the club from Brighton & Hove Albion earlier in the summer.
