Bernardo Silva signs new three-year deal
If he decides to see through his new deal, it will mean Silva will have spent nine years at the Etihad Stadium. This is despite speculation seeming to arise every summer over the Portuguese international’s future.
Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have been continuously linked with signing the 28-year-old, who is currently City’s first-choice right-winger but has also regularly been deployed as a central midfielder throughout his spell.
The long-term absence of Kevin De Bruyne may mean Silva will play a large part of this season in central midfield, however. Silva’s versatility and ability to take on Pep Guardiola’s instructions without fault were key factors as to why the Cityzens were so keen to keep him at the Etihad Stadium beyond this summer.
