German champions Bayern Munich have stated that Inter Milan-bound defender Benjamin Pavard has missed training today due to illness.
The announcement was made via the club’s official website this afternoon and suggests the French World Cup winner is one step closer to completing a permanent switch to the Nerazzuri after Inter Milan manager Simeone Inzaghi identified Pavard as his first-choice defensive target this summer.
Bayern Munich coy on Benjamin Pavard’s future
The 27-year-old is currently waiting to receive the green light from the Bavarians after a $36m fee was agreed between the two clubs earlier this week.
Pavard, who was also closely scouted by Manchester United, wants a fresh challenge away from Germany after winning four consecutive Bundesliga titles with Bayern.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Pavard is expected to fly to Milan before the end of the week to conduct his medical examinations and will sign a long-term deal at the San Siro.
