The season-long loan will include an option to buy clause next summer and will depend on Cancelo’s development in Spain.
Cancelo will become Xavi’s immediate first-choice right-back after USMNT full-back Sergino Dest left for PSV Eindhoven on a season-long loan earlier this month.
