Chelsea’s wantaway hitman Romelu Lukaku is expected to travel to Italy today to complete a season-long loan move with Serie A side Roma.
Lukaku, 30, is yet to appear for the Blues this summer after being told to train with the youth team by the club, and according to Fabrizio Romano, a long-awaited move away from Stamford Bridge has finally been arranged.

After seeing deals to fellow Italian sides Inter Milan and Juventus break down, it looks like it is third time lucky for Lukaku who is set to be flown to The Eternal City this afternoon by Roma owner Daniel Friedkin personally to complete a move to Jose Mourinho’s side in an unorthodox move.

Roma are without their first-choice number nine Tammy Abraham who suffered a serious knee injury in June and with fellow center-forwards Andrea Belotti and Ola Solbakken not convincing in Abraham’s absence, Mourinho feels he needs a proven goalscorer at this level to help I Giallorossi to achieve European football this season.
