Liverpool defender Joe Gomez has been linked with a move away from Anfield with Al Ittihad huge admirers of the England international.
The versatile 26-year-old, who can operate as both a central defender and right-back, is high up on the Saudi Pro League side’s list of priorities but according to Fabrizio Romano, the Reds insist they have no intention of selling important players in the final days of the window.
Al Ittihad have time to make Joe Gomez swoop
However, with the Saudi League summer transfer window not shutting until September 20, The Tigers still have more than enough time to get a deal for Gomez over the line and have also been linked with a league-record bid for Reds forward Mo Salah in a potential double swoop.
However, with a long-term suspension potentially facing Virgil Van Dijk on the horizon due to dissent, Gomez is still seen as an essential member of Jurgen Klopp’s squad and will not be released easily by the club.
