Premier League outfit West Ham United have held talks with signing former Manchester United attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard on a free transfer.
The 30-year-old is without a club after leaving Nottingham Forest as a free agent this summer and according to Sky Sports, the Hammers are set to offer Lingard a short-term contract.
Jesse Lingard set for Hammers switch?
Lingard is keeping all of his options open, however, and has refused to turn down the idea of a potential switch to the Saudi Pro League.
Speaking to Sky Sports’ Pete Graves, Lingard stated “I just want to play football. It’s just about picking the right team for me at this stage. I’m still hungry.”
Lingard had a successful loan spell at West Ham during the second half of the Covid-hit 2020-2021 season, scoring a superb effort of nine goals and assisting a further five in just 16 appearances for the East Londoners.
