AC Milan winger Alexis Saelemaekers has joined Serie A rivals Bologna on a season-long loan.
The 24-year-old Belgian international became a regular under Stefano Pioli’s side since joining from Anderlecht in 2020 and missed only two league matches during the Rossoneri’s march to the Serie A title during the 2021-22 season.
Alexis Saelemaekers joins Bologna
Saelemaekers can play either as a winger, full-back, or as a number 10 and his versatility quickly became a huge asset for Pioli throughout his time at San Siro.
The Rossoblu will retain an option to make the deal permanent following the conclusion of Saelemaekers’ loan spell.
As confirmed on Bologna’s official club website, Saelemaekers’ quality, work rate, and dedication will be key to Thiago Motta’s side’s progress if they are to improve on their ninth-place finish last season.
