Nottingham Forest are close to completing the signing of Chelsea’s out-of-favor winger Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Hudson-Odoi, 22, had been destined to join Fulham but the Cottagers withdrew their interest after failing to agree a fee with Chelsea. According to The Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg, the Blues have spent the summer looking for a buyer for Hudson-Odoi, who was once heralded as one of the best talents to emerge from their academy.
Callum Hudson-Odoi set for Forest move?
Hudson-Odoi is keen to find a new challenge away from Stamford Bridge after falling down the pecking order and was not even given a squad number ahead of the 2023-2024 season by the club.
While it remains unclear if Hudson-Odoi wants to move to the City Ground, he could benefit from being re-united with Forest manager Steve Cooper with whom Hudson-Odoi played for at youth level for England.
The winger only has one year left on his current deal at Stamford Bridge and Todd Boehly wants to get him off the books. Hudson-Odoi spent last season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen but struggled for game time in Germany.
