Jesse Lingard has been training with West Ham United following his release from Nottingham Forest at the end of last season.
However, according to reports in the Evening Standard, it is looking increasingly likely that the former Manchester United star will sign a short-term deal to remain at the London Stadium.
Jesse Lingard set to be rewarded with Hammers deal
Lingard has reportedly impressed the coaching staff at the Hammers, and David Moyes is keen to add him to the squad for the season.
It’s unlikely that the 30-year-old will be a key player of the team, but he will have a role to play with the Hammers battling on a number of fronts following their Europa Conference League success last term.
Lingard impressed during a loan stint at the Hammers in the 2020-21 season, as he scored nine goals in 16 Premier League appearances.
However, despite West Ham interest last summer, the England international opted for a permanent move to Forest following his United release.
