Manchester United are continuing to work on a deal to sign Fiorentina defensive midfielder Sofyan Amrabat before the end of the transfer window.
According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, the player is keen on a move to Old Trafford with a season-long loan rather than a permanent deal being offered due to United’s obligations with Financial Fair Play.

Sofyan Amrabat set for Old Trafford switch
United have been linked with a move for the Moroccon all summer and with just over two days left until the end of the window, the club have stepped up negotiations with La Viola.
Amrabat is currently contracted at Fiorentina until 2024 with the option of a further year.
The Red Devils have also considered a number of players to play in defensive midfield, including Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch, who also attracted interest from Liverpool. Despite this, United have decided to focus their attention on Amrabat in order to strengthen Erik Ten Hag’s squad in a key position on the field.
Amrabat will not be in Fiorentina’s squad for their Europa Conference League Qualifier Play-Off tomorrow against Rapid Wien.
