Barcelona will remove the buy option clause in Joao Cancelo’s loan deal from Manchester City in order for the transfer to comply with Financial Fair Play Regulations.
The 29-year-old has been waiting all week for the deal to be officially signed off and is currently waiting in Catalonia to receive the green light from Barca officials.

According to Fabrizio Romano, a season-long loan with no option to buy will now be processed by the La Liga champions who are still struggling to overcome financial constraints.

Cancelo is contracted at the Etihad Stadium until June 2027 but is looking increasingly likely that the Portuguese international has played his last match for the Cityzens.
