Man United have agreed a deal with Luton Town for the permanent sale of Teden Mengi.
The newly promoted side have been tracking the central defender throughout the summer. The official announcement of the deal is likely to be made on Thursday, according to the Daily Mail.
Teden Mengi close to permanent move to Luton Town
Mengi has been at Old Trafford since signing with the youth system at the age of seven. The defender was a regular starter at youth level for the Red Devils, and was named in the senior squad for the first time in a Europa League match in 2019.
Mengi made his senior debut for United in August 2020, but he failed to breakthrough into the first team. The defender was loaned out to Derby County in February 2021, before signing for Birmingham City on loan in January 2022.
The 21-year-old impressed in the Midlands, but hamstring issues saw his game time limited to just ten appearances. However, a move to Luton this summer gives the central defender a fresh start.
