Southampton blocked the late move of Che Adams on deadline day, meaning the striker wasn’t able to complete his move to Wolves.
According to the Athletic, the Saints put the brakes on the potential deal with just hours remaining before the deadline.
Che Adams to remain in Championship
Adams was happy with the move, as the 27-year-old was keen to play back in the Premier League with Wolves. However, the loan deal between the two clubs broke down in the final hours, as the Saints couldn’t find a replacement.
It is a huge blow for Wolves, as the Midlands club were keen to add to their striking options on the final day of the season.
However, the developments mean that the 27-year-old will now remain in the Championship for the remainder of the season. Adams has started the new season in excellent form, as he has scored three in three in the second tier of English soccer.
