Former Liverpool and Barcelona creative midfielder Philipe Coutinho is close to completing his season-long loan move to Qatari side Al Duhail.
The 31-year-old was heavily linked with moves to Real Betis and Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas but according to Fabrizio Romano, the Brazilian international turned down both offers in favor of a move to the Gulf State.

Philippe Coutinho off to Al Duhail
Coutinho moved to Aston Villa initially on loan in January 2022 under then-head coach Steven Gerrard but has fallen down the pecking order under current boss Unai Emery and is now surplus to requirements to the Europa Conference League qualifiers.
Al Duhail will pay 100% of Coutinho’s wages this season with an announcement confirming the move expected to be made imminently. The Qataris have been able to arrange a transfer for Coutinho as their summer transfer window remains open until September 18.
The Doha club are currently coached by former legendary Inter Milan and Chelsea striker Hernan Crespo.
