Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho will not sign for Al Ettifaq on a season-long loan despite rumors linking him with a move away from Old Trafford.
The 23-year-old was part of a high-profile public spat with head coach Erik Ten Hag following United’s 3-1 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday which saw the England international take to social media and claim he had become a scapegoat for United’s shortcomings at the beginning of this season.
Jadon Sancho set for Old Trafford stay
According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Steven Gerrard’s side will not be making a move for Sancho today as the Pro League transfer window slams shut at 10 PM BST (5 PM ET).
🚨 Jadon Sancho isn’t joining Saudi Pro League before transfer deadline tonight. 23yo admired but move not happening. Same applies for Mohamed Salah but #SPL interest in 31yo remains for future + good relations between all parties @TheAthleticFC #MUFC #LFC https://t.co/HLIohXmSna

Sancho is highly admired by the Saudi club but with three years still remaining on his contract at Old Trafford, a season-long loan without an option to buy is deemed to make little financial or sporting sense to United’s bosses.
As confirmed by Fabrizio Romano, sources close to Sancho have also confirmed that he will not be making a move to the Gulf State as he looks to resurrect what has so far been a disappointing spell for the Red Devils.
