Champions League hopefuls Newcastle United have made significant progress in tying down star midfielder Bruno Guimaraes to a new contract.
The Brazilian, 25, has become an immediate fan favorite on Tyneside for the Magpies since his arrival from Lyon in January 2022 and quickly established himself as one of the best central midfielders in the Premier League.

Guimaraes has formed a formidable midfield partnership with Brazilian compatriot Joelintion. However, the pair’s form has dipped slightly this season with Eddie Howe’s men losing their last three Premier League matches before the international break this weekend.
Guimaraes had been linked with a move to Liverpool next summer by some earlier this week but these rumors are understood to be well wide of the mark.
