Aston Villa new signing Youri Tielemans has admitted he is unhappy with the amount of game time he is receiving currently.
Tielemans joined Villa in the summer on a free transfer from relegated Leicester City but has so far failed to break into Unai Emery’s favored 11.
Youri Tielemans wants more minutes
Whilst on international duty with the Belgian national team, Tielemans told Brussells-based news outlet DH, “ I told Emery that I came to Villa to play. He understands me, but at the moment, he prefers to play with the two midfielders from last season”.
The two midfielders Tielemans is referring to are Brazilian Douglas Luiz and the destructive Boubacar Kamara. So far this season, Emery has deployed his favored 4-4-2 system, with the central midfielders holding their positions, allowing the front four freedom to go forward.
The more creative Tielemans has not yet been trusted as part of Emery’s midfield two. However, the 26-year-old is confident he can gain his place in the team soon, saying “He (Emery) told me that soon, there will be a succession of games and I’ll get more playing time”.
