Al Arabi have completed the signing of defensive midfielder Marco Verratti from French giants Paris Saint-Germain.
The tenacious 30-year-old has finally bid farewell to the French capital after spending 11 years at the Parc des Princes.
Marco Verratti lands in Doha
Verratti landed in Dohad last night and has now concluded his medical examination and signed his contract.
Speaking to the media ahead of his move, the Italian international stated, “I am very happy. I can’t wait to start this season. I hope we will have a great season”.
Verratti, along with good friend Neymar, was seen to be one of the fall guys at PSG as new head coach Luis Enrique looks to get to grips with a dressing room that has been dominated by player power in recent years.
Italian Verratti has moved for a fee of approximately $48.2m- a very healthy figure for the 30-year-old who is seen by many to be past his best.
