New USMNT recruit Folarin Balogun has started life as the Stars and Stripes’ first-choice striker in terrific fashion.
In May, the 22-year-old switched allegiances from England to the United States and scored his second goal for his new nation in last night’s 4-0 rout of Oman in Minnesota.

Reacting quickly to Sergino Dest’s shot being parried out by Oman keeper Ibrahim Al Mukhaini, Balogun was on hand to bury the rebound with his left foot to open the scoring in the 13th minute.

Balogun is tipped to go from strength to strength this season after completing a $49.1m transfer from Arsenal to French club Monaco last month.
As a center forward playing on the last shoulder, Balogun’s combination with the pacy Timothy Weah and star man Christian Pulisic could cause problems for any defense in the world.
With more game-time guaranteed this season at club level, and with Monaco currently sitting top of Ligue 1, the sky is now the limit for Balogun who continues to prove why Gregg Berhalter’s men fought so hard to convince him to choose the USMNT.
