Poland are set to sack Fernando Santos as the head coach of their national team after less than nine months in charge.
The 68-year-old Portuguese manager succeeded Czesław Michniewicz following the conclusion of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar last winter.
Poland set to dismiss experienced Fernando Santos
Santos led the Portuguese national team to win the European Championships in 2016 but has been unable to convince the Polish media or public that he is the right man for the job since his arrival.
Santos’ defensive style of play has been criticized as widely as his lack of appearances at Polish league matches.
Following embarrassing defeats to Moldova and more recently to the hands of Albania, the experienced head coach’s time looks like it is up according to Fabrizio Romano with Poland now looking destined to miss out on Euro 2024 qualification.
