Spanish prosecutors have requested a restraining order to prevent former Spanish Football President Luis Rubiales from approaching national team player Jenni Hermoso.

Rubiales was summoned to the High Court in Madrid after appearing to forcibly kiss Hermoso on the lips during the trophy presentation after Spain beat England 1-0 in the Women’s World Cup final in Australia last month.

Rubiales, 46, insists the kiss was consensual but Hermoso says it was forced upon her.

According to Reuters, if the restraining order is granted, it would prevent Rubiales from trying to contact Hermoso or from coming within 500 meters of her.

After arriving with his lawyer Olga Tubau, Rubiales denied the accusations during his testimony, according to a statement by the prosecutor’s office.

Judge Francisco de Jorge continues to lead the investigation and will decide whether the case goes to trial. As revealed earlier this week, if found guilty, Rubiales could suffer a jail sentence of up to four years following a recent law change in Spain.
