Marseille head coach Marcelino has informed the club he is leaving after just seven matches in charge.
The 58-year-old Spaniard only took the reigns of OM in June but according to French newspaper L’Equipe has decided to walk away from the French giants who sit third in Ligue 1.
Marcelino set to leave Marseille after three months
Marseille are currently unbeaten after five league matches but were demoted to the UEFA Europa League after losing to Greek outfit Panathinaikos on penalties in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round last month.
The former Valencia and Athletic Bilbao bids farewell with the club set to embark on a difficult run of fixtures.
Marseille’s next four matches begin with an away trip to Ajax in the Europa League on Thursday, followed by the first Le Classique of the season at Paris Saint-Germain just 72 hours later; with fixtures at top-of-the-table Monaco and at home to the in-form Brighton and Hove Albion to come the following week.
