New Newcastle United signing Sandro Tonali has admitted he can see himself returning to AC Milan in the latter stages of his career.
The 23-year-old played 72 minutes for the Magpies against the Rossoneri last night in Milan during a 0-0 stalemate in the Champions League.
Sandro Tonali remains an AC Milan fan
Speaking to Italian news outlet Mediaset after the match, Tonali said, “Return to AC Milan one day? I don’t know… I’d pay to know my future.”
Tonali moved to Newcastle from AC Milan in July for an undisclosed fee, reported to be in the region of $75m making him the most expensive Italian player of all time.
The central midfielder scored on his Premier League debut in a 5-1 win over Aston Villa but has had a relatively quiet start to life in England following that.
“I’m not closing the door to AC Milan. I can’t and won’t hide my love, and passion for Milan,” Tonali added.
