Napoli head coach Rudi Garcia has challenged Kvicha Kvaratskhelia to provide more goal contributions after seeing a dip in the Georgian winger’s form.
The Italian champions limped to a scrappy 2-1 win at Sporting Braga last night thanks in part to an 88th-minute winning own goal by Braga defender Sikou Niakate.
Rudi Garcia wants more from star players
Kvaratskhelia, 22, finished last season as the top assist provider with 10 assists and 12 goals, being awarded the Serie A MVP award at the end of the season, and the Champions League Young Player of the Season.
However, the misfiring Georgian has just one goal contribution for the Neapolitans since March, and new head coach Garcia wants more from his star asset.
Speaking post-match in Portugal last night, Garcia noted: “He needs to play and get his rhythm back on track. When we attack or defend we must do it together.”
Kvicha Kvaratskhelia only has 1 goal contribution for Napoli since March 2023 🤯
