American-backed Fiorentina are one of the most financially stable clubs in Serie A and were able to reject a big-money bid from the Premier League to keep one of their finest attacking assets.
Gonzalez is widely regarded as one of the best wingers in Italy and has already scored four goals from seven matches this season so far.
The news is expected to be confirmed by the club in the coming days.
