Premier League outfit West Ham United are no longer interested in signing Jesse Lingard on a free transfer.
The 30-year-old attacking midfielder had been training with the Hammers since August 14 following the expiry of his one-year contract at Nottingham Forest.
Jesse Lingard will not be joining West Ham
Lingard scored nine goals and provided six assists in an excellent spell on loan at Hammers during the second half of the 2020-2021 season where the former England international showed the best form of his career.
However, Lingard turned down the opportunity to rejoin the Hammers last summer in order to sign a lucrative deal with Forest.
According to The Athletic, Lingard is now training with Saudi Pro League side Al Ettifaq, managed by ex-Liverpool great Steven Gerrard, for one month in the hope of earning a contract there.
Gerrard has already signed former Premier League players Jordan Henderson and Demarai Gray since taking over the Saudi side.
