New Bayern Munich Sporting Director Christoph Freund has confirmed the Bundesliga Champions will be active in the winter transfer window.
Speaking to ZDF presenter Sven Voss, newly-appointed Freund confirmed the Bavarians would be looking to strengthen the squad in January, stating, “We’re discussing January and where we can still improve and we will find the right solutions”.

When pressed on the return to fitness of club captain and legendary goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, Freund confirmed the veteran would be back soon.
“Not exactly yet, but it’s not far away, I think it could only be a matter of days… He’s been out for a long time now, so load control is important.”
According to Fabrizio Romano, Bayern will be back in the market for a new defensive midfielder and central defender when the January transfer window after successfully luring first-choice center-forward target Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur last month.
