Slovenia striker Benjamin Sesko has claimed he spoke to Manchester United this summer before joining RB Leipzig.
Speaking to German website Transfermarkt, Sesko stated the Red Devils were interested in his services before turning to Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund.
Benjamin Sesko admits to Man United talks
The 20-year-old striker said of a possible move to United, “The thing is, I was not really into that kind of conversation but I think, yeah, I think it was better just to come here.”
Sesko moved to RB Leipzig from Red Bull-owned sister side RB Salzburg and when asked about choosing Leipzig over other clubs, the young forward believes a move to Eastern Germany was better for his development.
“It was really important for me to go to a place that was playing a similar style of football. I already knew what to do and didn’t have to go through an entire learning process again”, Sesko added.
