Manchester United winger Antony has returned to England to help Greater Manchester Police’s investigation into allegations of abuse made against him by his ex-girlfriend.
The 23-year-old flew back to his homeland of Brazil earlier this month while preparing for the Brazilian national team’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers, but after allegations of his private life emerged in the media, he was withdrawn from the squad by caretaker boss Fernando Diniz.

Sources say the 23-year-old has agreed to surrender his phone to Greater Manchester Police to help them with their investigations.
After ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin accused the forward of “physical and psychological violence“, two more women have since come forward to accuse the winger of physically assaulting them.
Antony has denied all allegations made against him and is determined to prove his innocence, saying in a public statement, “I want to reiterate my innocence of the things I have been accused of, and I will fully cooperate with the police to help them reach the truth. I look forward to returning to play as soon as possible.”
Antony remains on a leave of absence, authorized by United, and will not be available for selection by the Red Devils until further notice.
The forward has not been arrested or charged in Brazil or the UK.
