Chelsea face a nervous wait to find out the length of the injury suffered by Ben Chilwell after the full-back limped off in last night’s win over Brighton and Hove Albion in the Carabao Cup.
The 26-year-old has gathered a reputation for being one of many injury-prone stars in Chelsea’s squad.
Chelsea wait to find out significance of Ben Chilwell’s injury
Captain for the night, Chilwell limped off at the end of the match after the Blues had made all of their allocated substitution intervals.
Following the sale of Lewis Hall to Newcastle, and with Marc Cucurella not seemingly in Mauricio Pochettino’s long-term plans, Chelsea face a serious issue on the left side of their defense if Chilwell is ruled out for a significant amount of time.
According to The Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg, Chilwell is set to have a scan on his hamstring today- a recurring injury for the England international.
