Toni Kroos will remain at Real Madrid until June 2024.

It has been reported by Marca’s Jose Felix Diaz that the World Cup winner has decided to renew his deal at Los Blancos which will mean he will spend a decade at the Bernabeu.

Since joining in 2014, Kroos has won four Champions Leagues, three La Liga Titles, and five Club World Cup titles.

Kroos’s longstanding partnership with Luka Modric in the middle of Real Madrid’s has been a huge part of Real Madrid’s European dominance over the past decade and current manager Carlo Ancelotti, now in his second spell managing Los Blancos, is keen to keep the midfielder due to his experience and footballing intelligence after initially bringing him to the club for $27.5m.

The 33-year-old’s contract was due to run out at the end of the season and as reported in MARCA, Kroos was initially contemplating two options: either extending his contract in Madrid or announcing his retirement from all forms of football.

Ancelotti has now convinced Kroos to carry out the former, convincing him he is still a key part of his plans for next season. Real Madrid takes on Chelsea tonight in the Quarter Final of the Champions League, leading 2-0 on aggregate from the First Leg in the Bernabeu.
