Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel has been lined up to be Chelsea’s new number one as Todd Boehly begins his summer clearout at Stamford Bridge.
According to Bild in Germany, Kobel, 25, could be chosen to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga as Chelsea look to sure up a position that has caused them problems since Thibaut Courtois left for Real Madrid back in 2018.
If the German were to arrive at Stamford Bridge, it is likely that either, or both, Kepa and backup goalkeeper Edouard Mendy will depart in the summer.

However, if Chelsea were to sign Kobel, it is likely they will have to act fast as Borussia Dortmund are set to offer their keeper a new contract, including a higher salary.
Kobel is widely rated as one of the best Bundesliga goalkeepers today, despite his howler away at Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga earlier this month.
