Lionel Messi has been offered a recording-breaking $442m a year contract to play for Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal once his deal with Paris Saint-Germain ends this summer.
The World Cup winning captain has scored 15 goals and provided 15 assists for the Parisians in the league but has now found himself ostrasised at the club after going on a private trip to Saudi Arabia earlier this week despite his request to travel being turned down by PSG officials, angering the board, his teammates and the fans.
Lionel Messi on his way to Saudi Arabia?
And as reported by Fabrizio Romano, Al Hilal have offered to make Messi the highest paid player ever in a deal which would see him earn roughly twice as much money as Cristiano Ronaldo, who many see to be Messi’s main rival as the greatest footballer to ever play the game.

It is widely accepted that Messi would like to continue his career in Europe with Barcelona touted as his favored destination but with the once in a lifetime option to earn over $1m every day, Messi would be hard tempted to turn that figure down.
