Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni is the latest name to be rumored with a move to Liverpool this summer as the Reds plot a summer rebuild.
The Frenchman has proven to be an able deputy to the long-standing midfield partnership of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric in his first season since joining from Monaco for a fee that could rise up to $110m.
Jurgen Klopp monitoring French international Aurelien Tchouameni
Tchouameni was only an 84th-minute substitute for Kroos in Real Madrid’s 1-1 draw against Man City in the Champions League semi-final first leg on Tuesday and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is considering making a move for Tchouameni on loan this summer if he gets whiff that the French international is becoming frustrated at a lack of game time.
According to 90 min writer Graeme Bailey, Liverpool continue to be longstanding admirers of the 23-year-old and have informed Real that they would be willing to take Tchouameni off their hands for a season with fellow precocious midfield talent Jude Bellingham looking increasingly likely to move to the Bernabeu this season, further pushing the Frenchman down the midfield pecking order.
