Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has been linked with a summer move to La Liga champions Barcelona when his contract ends this summer.
The 31-year-old rounded off his time at Anfield in style after he scored a last-minute equalizer in his final home game for the club in a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa on Saturday.
And according to the Spanish newspaper Sport, the Brazilian would be delighted to join the Catalan giants when his time at Liverpool comes to an end on 30 June after the Reds’ decided against extending Firmino’s contract for another year back in March.
Roberto Firmino set for Barcelona switch?
However, Barcelona are believed to be prioritizing a move for Chelsea and Gabon forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is desperate to re-join the Catalans and was in attendance during Barca’s 2-1 home to defeat to Real Sociedad on Saturday to pick up his La Liga winners medal, the first league title of the veteran striker’s career.
And with Barca struggling to remain within the constraints set by Financial Fair Play Regulations, it is almost certain that the La Liga champions will be unable to finance a deal for both Firmino and Aubameyang this summer.
