Juventus are seriously considering the future of head coach Max Allegri after a disastrous second season since returning to the club.

According to Italian-based GOAL reporters James Hunsley and Romeo Agresti, Allegri is under a significant amount of pressure from club officials after a turbulent season in Turin is set to end without silverware.

Juventus’ patience in Max Allegri’s wearing thin

On Monday, it was announced merely minutes before their crucial Serie A clash against Empoli that The Old Lady had been deducted 10 points, which meant Juve slipped from second to seventh in the league table.

Despite the chaos going on behind the scenes at the Allianz Arena, Juve fans have become increasingly frustrated with Allegri’s negative style of football on the pitch. By contrast, Luciano Spalleti’s abrasive and attack-minded Napoli have brushed aside all forth-comers in their title-winning season and no match reiterated this point more than the Neapolitans crushing 5-1 defeat of Juventus back in January.

Allegri has now failed to win a trophy in his first two seasons since returning to the club, which is in stark contrast to the success he helped provide during his first spell in charge which heralded five consecutive Serie A’s, four Coppa Italia titles, and two Champions League runner-up finishes.
