Liverpool have turned down an offer from an unnamed club for highly-rated Portuguese attacking midfielder Fabio Carvalho.
The 20-year-old has found opportunities limited in the Reds’ first team since his summer move from Fulham for $9.5m and speculation has surrounded his future for the past month. Liverpool are expected to undertake a busy transfer window and have already announced the departures of midfielders James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Liverpool want to keep hold of starlet
According to The Ahletic’s James Pearce and Caoimhe O’Neill, the club are not considering a permanent transfer for Carvalho at the moment but the Reds are considering letting the young star go on loan next season to gain more experience.
Despite being limited to just eight starts in all competitions, Carvalho has scored against Newcastle United and Manchester City this season and his attitude this season has pleased manager Jurgen Klopp, who said of his player last week, “This was not Fabio’s best year in his career but it might have been his most important. No player has impressed me more than Fabio. It is true.”
