Newcastle are in the hunt to sign Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay this summer with manager Eddie Howe reportedly a fan.
The 26-year-old has found himself down the pecking order at Old Trafford this season behind summer signings Casemiro and Christian Eriksen, as well as Brazilian Fred and on-loan midfielder Marcel Sabitzer.
Scottish international set for Premier League switch?
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, however, Eddie Howe has been keen on the Scotland international since January with a summer move seemingly beneficial for all parties involved, especially McTominay who would be back in the Champions League next season.

At that stage of the season, Ten Hag did not want to lose McTominay in case United suffered any injuries whilst they were still competing in all four competitions.
McTominay will still face stiff competition for his place in midfield at St James’ Park however, with the Magpies likely to strengthen a midfield already containing Bruno Guimaraes, Joelinton, and Joe Willock, in the summer.
