Premier League new boys Burnley are expecting to make a move for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Fabian Ruiz.
The 27-year-old only moved to the French capital last year following a successful four years in Italy with Napoli but according to Foot Mercato journalists Sebastian Denis and Matthieu Margueritte, this will not put off the Clarets from making a move for the Spanish international in the summer.
Spanish international Fabian Ruiz set for Premier League move?
Ruiz joined Ligue 1 champions for $26.5m last August and was expected to be a long-term solution for a midfield that sometimes lacked elegance alongside the grit and determination of long-serving midfielder Marco Verrati in the middle of the park. It is widely regarded that the Spanish international’s performances have flattered to deceive, providing only three goals from 37 appearances this season.
But it is thought that Ruiz does not want to give up on the opportunity of playing for one of the biggest names in European football just yet, where he currently earns more than $5m a year and is expected to play a greater part in his second season in Ligue 1 with his current deal with PSG running until 2027.
