Tottenham have finally reached a verbal agreement with Ange Postecoglou to become their new head coach.

The 57-year-old Australian helped guide Celtic to a historic domestic treble at the weekend following a 3-1 win against Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Hampden Park.

And according to Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy has been able to strike a deal to appoint a head coach at the fifth time of asking.

Tottenham Hotspur set to announce new head coach

Postecoglou brings to Tottenham a wealth of experience, managing for the best part of 30 years. Spurs fans may be underwhelmed by the appointment, following Levy’s talks with ex-Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann and former Spain head coach Luis Enrique, with the Athens-born coach spending most of his career managing in the less glamorous Australian A-League

The Australian does, however, bring an attractive brand of football, and his Celtic side have scored an incredible 114 league goals in 38 Scottish league matches this season, averaging exactly three goals each match.

Postecoglou has agreed terms with Tottenham over a two-year deal, with an option of a third year taking his potential stay in North London up until the summer of 2026.
