And according to journalist Nicolo Schira who first broke the story, Real Madrid bosses want Diaz to replace PSG-bound Marco Asensio by offering the Spanish winger a new four-year deal.

Despite the Rossoneri’s desire to keep the former Manchester City graduate, Diaz’s loan spell at San Siro is now up, and with two years still remaining on his deal at the Bernabeu, the Spaniard is expected to sign a new contract at Los Blancos this week before being presented to the fans and media as a new signing and important member of the Real squad next year.
This is despite Diaz having already been under contract at Real Madrid since 2019, moving from City for $18m during the January transfer window.
