Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly held talks with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta over the possibility of becoming their new head coach.
The Parisians are in the hunt to appoint a new manager following the departure of Christophe Galtier, who was informed of his dismissal at the end of the 2022-2023 campaign.
Arteta on the list of candidates for the next PSG coach
After negotiations with German coach Julian Nagelsmann came to an abrupt end, PSG bosses have sounded out former player Mikel Arteta to become their new boss according to French news outlet RMC.
Arteta is being touted alongside fellow ex-PSG player Thiago Motta and Porto head coach Sergio Conceicao to take over at the Parc des Princes next season. The 41-year-old’s commitment to Arsenal is believed to make PSG Sporting Director Jorge Campos feel pessimistic about being able to appoint the Spaniard this summer, however, with sources close to Arteta suggesting he is determined to lead the Gunners into their first Champions League campaign for six years.
Arteta enjoyed an 18-month playing spell at Paris Saint-Germain between 2001 and 2002, scoring five times in 53 appearances in all competitions.
