MLS outfit Minnesota United have signed former Norwich City and Celtic striker Teemu Pukki on a free transfer.

The ex-Premier League star joins as a designated player signing on a free transfer after his contract expired at Norwich at the end of last season.

Teemu Pukki completes MLS switch

The 33-year-old became a fan-favorite at Carrow Road since his arrival in 2018 and scored a very impressive 87 goals in 198 appearances for the Canaries during his five-year spell with the club.

Despite suffering relegation twice with the club during his two Premier League campaigns with Norwich, Pukki was still able to hit 24 goals over the 2019-20 and 2021-22 campaigns, and the Finn is set to join his international teammate Robin Lod at the Saint Paul-based club on a two-year contract.

Pukki has enjoyed an excellent 17-year career so far which has seen him play in countries such as Spain, Germany, Scotland, Denmark, and England.

The news was announced by The Loons’ official club social media platforms as Minnesota United look to climb the Western Conference table, currently sitting third bottom- four points from the MLS Cup Wild Card round spots.
