New Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou has been handed an early setback in North London, as it has been revealed that Ivan Perisic is looking to terminate his contract.
The former Inter Milan star joined the Premier League outfit on a free transfer last summer, but he could find game time hard to come by under the new Spurs boss.
Ivan Perisic hoping to end Spurs stay and return to Croatia
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Perisic has already reached out to the Spurs hierarchy about ending his stay in the Premier League. It is unlikely that the club will stand in the way of an exit for the Croatian international, as Postecoglou looks to abandon the wing-back system used by Antonio Conte.
The change in style will mean that Perisic will find game time hard to come by last term, and the new boss is keen to grant the Croatian his wish.
The 34-year-old played 42 times for Spurs across all competitions last season, scoring just once. Perisic is looking to return to Hajduk Split, who he previously played for at youth level between 2000 and 2006.
