Manchester United and Newcastle are set to battle it out this summer for the signature of Axel Disasi.
The 25-year-old was an ever-present for Monaco last season, appearing in all 38 of his side’s Ligue 1 outings in what ended up being a disappointing campaign for The Red and Whites.

The Red Devils have actively been in the market for a new center-back since losing out to Bayern Munich in their pursuit of Napoli defender Kim Min-Jae, whose move will be announced early this week by the Bavarians.
Disasi has spent the last three years at the Principality Club after arriving from Reims for $14m and his consistent performances in France led to him being called up to Didier Deschamps’ World Cup squad last winter after PSG defender Presnel Kimpembe suffered an injury a week before the tournament started.
