Andersen has been a player that Newcastle have been monitoring throughout the summer as a defensive solution. The Magpies will address their central defensive issues later this week after finalizing a deal to sign Tino Livramento.
The Magpies will step up their search after Fabian Schar picked up an injury during pre-season. Newcastle appears light in the position, meaning that they will be pressure to find a new player to fill the void.
Newcastle had previously been interested in Disasi, but the defender formalized his move to Chelsea over the weekend.
The Toon could yet face a battle to secure Andersen, as Tottenham also have a long-standing interest in the Danish international.
