USMNT shot-stopper Gabriel Slonina has left Premier League giants Chelsea on a season-long loan for Belgium side K.A.S Eupen.
The Belgian Pro League outfit narrowly avoided relegation last season, finishing 15th, but have made a good start to this season after beating last year’s runners-up Genk at the weekend.

In January, Slonina became the youngest-ever goalkeeper to play for the USMNT at the age of just 18 and made several smart saves in a 2-1 defeat to Slovenia. The highly-rated teenager joined Chelsea from Chicago Fire last summer for a fee of $10m, potentially rising to $11m in add-ons.
Slonina is on the lookout for first-team football in order to secure his place in the USMNT squad for next summer’s FIFA World Cup and according to Fabrizio Romano, the 19-year-old is currently finalizing the details of his loan move to the Belgian club which will be completed later today.
